Safari Shuttle resumes service to the Zoo every Saturday this summer
Enjoy stress-free travel to the Fort Worth Zoo starting Saturday, May 29
|
FORT WORTH, Texas – The T and the Fort Worth Zoo will resume the Safari Shuttle Zoo Trolley’s summer Saturday service from the downtown Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) to the Fort Worth Zoo starting May 29 through October 30, 2010.
Traffic to the Zoo is particularly heavy on Saturdays during the summer months, so the Safari Shuttle offers environmentally-friendly, stress-free travel to the Zoo. Trinity Railway Express (TRE) passengers from Dallas and the Mid-Cities can conveniently catch the Safari Shuttle at the ITC and ride free of charge with their TRE day, weekly, monthly or annual pass.
The Safari Shuttle will run on Saturdays, only, from the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) at 1001 Jones Street to the Zoo’s main parking lot entrance on Colonial Parkway. The stop is just a short walk from the Zoo’s entrance gate. The shuttles will run every 30 minutes beginning at 9:30 a.m. from the ITC. The last shuttle leaves the Zoo at 7 p.m.
The shuttle will operate an “express-type” service from the ITC directly to and from the Zoo with no other stops. For those who wish to park and ride, street and commercial parking are available across from the ITC. A day pass to ride the Safari Shuttle round trip is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 5 to 18 and for seniors age 65 and older. Children under age 5 ride free. A TRE pass covers the Safari Shuttle fare.
