Born: April 6, 2004 Weight: Approximately 2.5 pounds Length: Approximately 12 inches Gender: Two females Etc: These are the first lion cubs born at the Zoo in nearly 20 years, and although this pair didn't come in with a roar, they did take several keepers by surprise! Keepers placed the adult male and female lions together for several months in hopes of having a little Simba or two. The female didn't show typical signs of her pregnancy until a few days before she gave birth. The playful pair spent their first month in a den with their mother and can now be seen romping through the two-level exhibit.
