Penguin Tour

Meet some of the Fort Worth Zoo’s penguins up close in the Penguin Tour. Your tour begins at the Penguins exhibit, where you will be met by one of the Zoo’s interpretive specialists. Watch as keepers feed and train the Zoo’s flock of rockhopper and African penguins and answer your questions! Next, you’ll meet some of the Fort Worth Zoo’s penguins in an exclusive VIP area – just you and up to five of your friends. Tour guests will receive a custom Fort Worth Zoo tote bag filled with a plush penguin and other keepsakes.

  • Each tour is $500 for up to six (6) people and lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes
  • Zoo admission is included and is only valid for the day of the scheduled tour.
  • Payment is nonrefundable
  • A maximum of six (6) people are allowed per tour. No exceptions.
  • Children must be at least 8 years old and accompanied by an adult. No unescorted youth will be allowed.
  • Tours are offered at 3 p.m. daily (subject to availability).

Outdoor Learning Theater Animal Show Tour

The Outdoor Learning Theater at the Fort Worth Zoo provides guests with entertaining and educational encounters with the Zoo’s diverse animal collection. The 13,000-square-foot facility features shaded seating, misting fans and a grand stage. On that stage is where you can view entertaining, interactive animal presentations and a scripted show featuring the Zoo’s animal outreach collection. From hyacinth macaws soaring above you to viewing an American alligator up-close, the Outdoor Learning Theater is the place for unique experiences with endangered and exotic animals! During the Outdoor Learning Theater Animal Show Tour, you’ll sit in reserved seating during the stage show and then be invited on stage after the show for a meet and greet with three of the featured animals in the show. You and your guests will also learn how the Zoo’s animals are trained and participate in an interactive training session.

  • Each tour is $250 for up to four (4) people and lasts one hour
  • *Zoo admission is included and is only valid for the day of the scheduled tour.
  • Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. No unescorted youth will be allowed.
  • Tours are offered at the following times:

    • 1:50 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
    • 2:50 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays
  • Aug. 25 to Oct. 23, 2014

Animal Outreach and Conservation Center (ARCC) Animal Meet & Greet

The Fort Worth Zoo is home to more than 7,000 animals, including a collection of species ranging from American alligators to hyacinth macaws that travels throughout the Metroplex to educate thousands of people about wildlife and conservation. When they’re not traveling throughout north Texas, these animals are housed, cared for and trained in a behind-the-scenes area of the Zoo. In this tour, you can meet some of the Zoo’s outreach animals during the Animal Outreach and Conservation Center (ARCC) Animal Meet and Greet. Your experience begins at the Twister House in Texas Wild!, where you will be met by one of the Zoo’s outreach staff members. From there you’ll head behind the scenes to the ARCC for a meet and greet with a bird, mammal and reptile from the Zoo’s animal outreach collection.

  • Each tour is $300 for up to six (6) people and lasts 30 minutes
  • *Zoo admission is included
  • A maximum of six (6) people are allowed per tour. No exceptions.
  • Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. No unescorted youth will be allowed.
  • This experience is offered at 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday (subject to availability) year-round.
  • Experience must be scheduled two weeks in advance.
  • One parking pass for a single vehicle is included; each additional vehicle will require a parking pass, which is $5 (cash only).
  • Payment is nonrefundable.
