Belle & Bowie’s First Birthday Celebrations — July 11, 12 & 13 and Aug. 1, 2 & 3
It’s been an exciting year for the Fort Worth Zoo’s baby Asian elephant calves Belle and Bowie. Turning 1 is twice the fun at the Fort Worth Zoo with a weekend-long birthday celebration for Belle July 11, 12 & 13 and an additional birthday bash for Bowie Aug. 1, 2 & 3. Click here for event details.
Wild Encounters — Daily
Learn wild facts about your favorite wild animals during daily Wild Encounters keeper chats. Click here to view the schedule.
Texas Nature Traders — Daily
This formalized program encourages kids (age 3 and older) to explore the outdoors and bring to the building fossils, rocks, bones, plants and other artifacts in exchange for points. Traders can redeem points (or save them for future use) for items in the Nature Trader inventory. Texas Nature Traders operates seven days a week, opening at 11 a.m. and closing one hour before the Zoo closes. Click here for more details.
Zoo Preschool — September 2014 to May 2015
Preschoolers will have fun learning about habitats and animal homes. Your 3-, 4- or 5-year-old will meet once per week, Monday through Thursday, from September to May. Click here for more information.
The Fort Worth Zoo is participating in North Texas Giving Day, an online fundraising event that connects nonprofits with donors across North Texas, on Sept. 18. Donating through North Texas Giving Day allows for bonus funds above and beyond original contribution, thanks to Communities Foundation of Texas. All donations are greatly appreciated, but only donations more than $25 are eligible for additional funds. Home School Day — Oct. 2
Home-schooled children and their families are invited for a fun-filled educational day in the wilds of the Zoo. Click here for more information.
Boo at the Zoo — Oct. 24, 25 & 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Zoo’s family friendly Halloween celebration will continue as a daytime, Zoo-wide event. Boo at the Zoo will feature Halloween-themed entertainment for all guests to enjoy, including animal presentations, Wild Encounters keeper chats, trick-or-treating, carnival games and more. Boo at the Zoo is included with Zoo membership/admission.
Spooky Sleepover – Oct. 31 to Nov. 1
Celebrate Halloween as you explore the Zoo after dark on a guided tour and learn about the Zoo’s creatures that go “bump” in the night. Registration opens September 15. Click here for overnight details.
Pumpkins and Pancakes – Nov. 15
The Zoo’s fourth annual fall-themed member event features an early opening just for Zoo members and their guests, a hot breakfast, animal enrichment activities and more. Tickets go on sale mid-October. Not a Zoo member? Click here to join.
Winter Zoo Camp — Dec. 22, 23 and 29, 30
Children in grades one through six will enjoy games, crafts and learning activities as they explore wildlife inside the Zoo and in the classroom during their winter break from school.
Winter Zoo Careers Camp –Dec. 28 to 30
In this overnight camp, students in grades nine through 12 will learn what it takes to work at the Zoo.
Zoo Year’s Eve — Dec. 31 to Jan. 1
Send your children ages 6 to 11 for a kid-friendly Zoo Year’s Eve celebration, which includes dinner, snacks, a moonlight safari, games and more. Click here for overnight details.
