African Savannah

The Fort Worth Zoo’s African Savannah exhibit is located at the far west end of the Zoo. The exhibit’s flat terrain mimics the vastness of African savannah land and makes it easy for guests to scan the horizon to view animals.

The Zoo’s black rhinos have a large yard to roam and plenty of mud to wallow in. A small herd of reticulated giraffes share their exhibit with whooper swans and ostriches. Across the path, hippos spend their days submerged in a large pool of water.

During the summer months, guests can beat the heat with misting fans and covers that provide shade over the main path that weaves through the exhibit.
