Resource Kits

Our resource kits offer insight into some of the Zoo's wildest animals. Curriculum kits provide lesson guides, visuals, videos, online resources, student pages, answer keys, activities and extensions about specific animals housed at the Zoo. Lessons discuss topics such as habitat, animal behavior and conservation efforts.

Resource Kits FREE and available for checkout for a period of 14 days. Each kit requires a $75.00 refundable deposit by credit card only. Resource Kits must be checked out in person at the Education Center. The deposit is refunded once the kit is returned in its entirety without damage.

Discover BATS!

Grades 5-8

Explore the incredible world of bat ecology. With more than 30 species residing in Texas alone, there is much to learn. Through scientific discovery your students will be captivated by these amazing creatures while learning about ecosystems and the important roles bats play on our earth.

Habitats: Realm of the TIGER

Grades 6-12

Tigers are recognized world-wide as powerful and beautiful. As the largest cat of the cat family, they exemplify the habitat needs shared by many large predators. Through this curriculum students explore the habitat, population dynamics, adaptations, life cycles, predator/prey relationships and conservation efforts made for this magnificent creature.

Far Traveler: Red Wolf Recovery

Grades K-8

Learn about red wolves! Students and teachers can investigate together the broader issues of biodiversity and conservation in the Southeast. In addition, this curriculum offers a way to explore part of America's past and to examine human attitudes toward large predators. CSI: Tracks

Grades K-8

Look for signs and clues! Discover who's been here! Piece together the story that is left behind. Using tracks and animal signs, students interpret and create stories through inference and discovery! This kit includes two story books, a tracks tarp, real animal signs and tracks stamps for students to create their own tracks stories.
