Workshops
Educators, formal and informal, classroom teachers, naturalists, camp counselors, scout leaders, register for a Fort Worth Zoo Workshop! Come and explore new curriculum and hands-on activities available through Zoo workshops. These workshops provide cross-curricular tools that meet the TEKS requirements while having fun and earning professional development hours.(All workshops earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours and some workshops include Texas Environmental Education Advisory Committee (TEEAC) and Gifted and Talented credit hours).
Registration:
A complete registration form is required for each participant. Registration and payment must be completed online. Payment by credit card is due at the time of registration.
Receipt:
Once you have registered and completed payment online, a receipt will be sent to you via email. A parking pass will be mailed to you separately prior to the date of the workshop.
Refunds and Session Changes:
Refunds and /or session changes must be requested at least 30 days before the session begins. Requests must be made in writing and emailed or faxed to the Education Center. No refunds or session changes will be given if the request is received less than 30 days before the session start date.

Project Aquatic WILD
July 24th 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
Project Aquatic WILD focuses on aquatic wildlife, habitats and our close connection to water. The curriculum is a national program that encourages critical thinking skills and a connection to the outdoors for grades K-12. Project Aquatic WILD gives educators access to a cross-curricular program while earning six CPE and TEEAC credit hours. Educators should bring a sack lunch and wear comfortable walking shoes as this is a moderate level activity.
The cost is $20 and includes an admission ticket to the Zoo.

Museum of Living Art (MOLA) Educator Institute
June 22-24, 2010 — 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily
Explore the Museum of Living Art! This professional development workshop guides you through the beauty and mystery of reptiles and amphibians in Fort Worth Zoo's newest exhibit. Learn about the basic life cycles, behavior and environments of these animals. More importantly, the workshop will delve into the myths and mysteries of these long misunderstood creatures, providing your students with the tools to see beyond the scales and slithers. Find out about ongoing conservation challenges and success stories in relation to geography, culture and history. Discover how conservation efforts are important for the future of these amazing creatures and how the lives of people are intertwined with the wild world of amphibians and reptiles. Through this workshop you will gain an understanding into a unique perspective that will transcend a true spirit of exploration into your classroom. Participants receive a combined total of 18 hours per session of CPE, TEEAC and Gifted and Talented Credit. Also included is a resource kit, curriculum guide, daily entrance into the Zoo, a light breakfast and lunch, and door prizes.
This workshop is open to Title I educators from Fort Worth ISD, PreK-8th grade, through application only. We are accepting scholarship applications now until April 1, 2010.
