Animals at the Fort Worth Zoo
The Fort Worth Zoo currently houses over 540 species including 72 species of mammals, 148 species of birds and 172 species of ectotherms.
Where are the elephants?
Construction has begun on the new Elephant Springs habitat, which will nearly triple the size of the elephants’ and greater one-horned rhinos’ habitats. Please know that the all of elephants may not always be visible from every viewing location due to construction and/or the animals’ needs, but will most always be able to be seen from one of the FIVE viewing spots. Although you might not always see them, the elephants will have access to indoor and outdoor areas.
