TripAdvisor names Fort Worth Zoo No. 10 zoo in the United States
FORT WORTH, Texas – The Fort Worth Zoo was named the No. 10 zoo in the nation, according to TripAdvisor’s 2014 Travelers’ Choice awards. The world’s largest travel site recognized 25 zoos around the country with this honor, based upon millions of reviews from TripAdvisor travelers.
The honor comes as the Zoo announced its busiest July since 1997, with more than 120,000 visitors.
Travelers’ Choice award winners were determined using the quantity and quality of reviews for zoos worldwide throughout a 12-month period.
“It’s an honor to be recognized among such world-class organizations,” said Michael Fouraker, Fort Worth Zoo executive director. “We strive to give our guests an enjoyable and memorable experience, and we’re thrilled our guests consider the Fort Worth Zoo to be among the best in the nation.”
This is the second time in 2014 that the Fort Worth Zoo has ranked among the top zoos in the country. In April, FamilyFun magazine named Fort Worth a Top 10 Zoo or Aquarium after families from across the country voted on kid-friendly travel destinations for the Family Fun Travel Awards.
