Join us Thursday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 14 for Tarrant County Heroes Weekend, an event honoring veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the United States military as well as all first responders and medical personnel in Tarrant County. This special weekend includes free admission for the "Hero" and one guest, and a $2 discount on up to four additional tickets. Please join us as we salute and celebrate our Heroes.

Rules & Guidelines

Heroes must present an official ID confirming proof of service. Tarrant County Heroes Weekend includes free admission for the Hero and one guest. Up to four additional tickets can be purchased with a discount of $2 off the regular price. This offer is only valid for Tarrant County Heroes Weekend, Thursday, Nov. 11 through Sunday Nov. 14, and tickets must be purchased at the front gate. (This offer is not available online.)

What is Tarrant County Heroes Weekend?
Tarrant County Heroes Weekend is a Fort Worth Zoo event honoring veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the United States military, first responders and medical personnel. This includes:

  • Veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the U.S. Air Force
  • Veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the U.S. Army
  • Veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the U.S. Coast Guard
  • Veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the U.S. Marines
  • Veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the U.S. Navy
  • Personnel of the National Guard and the Texas State Guard
  • Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
  • Hospital and medical personnel
  • Firefighters
  • Law enforcement officers
  • 911 dispatchers

When is the event?
Thursday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 14, during regular Zoo hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Who can come to the event?
While Tarrant County Heroes Weekend is an event honoring veterans, reserve- and active-duty personnel of the United States military, first responders and medical personnel, all guests are welcome to enjoy the Zoo and join us as we celebrate those who serve or have served our country. Zoo guests will pay regular price for admission, found here.
How much is the event?
Tarrant County Heroes Weekend includes free admission for the Hero and one guest. Up to four additional tickets can be purchased with a discount of $2 off the regular price. This offer is valid Thursday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 14 only and tickets must be purchased at the front gate. Regular Zoo admission applies for all other Zoo guests. Can I purchase tickets online?
Tickets must be purchased at the Zoo’s front gate in order to receive the discount. Tickets can be purchased online for regular Zoo admission prices.
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
Tarrant County Heroes Weekend will take place rain or shine, however, some animal-related events may not occur due to weather.
Will I have to pay for parking?
Parking is $5 per vehicle. Parking is always free for Zoo members.
