Update on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI)

The Zoo has been closely monitoring the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and has developed a preparedness plan to best
protect the birds and minimize the risk of infection to those populations. HPAI has now been reported in a range that requires extra protection for the health and safety of the Zoo’s birds. On your next visit, you might notice few birds in their habitats as aviaries are closed, pools are drained, increased cleaning and disinfecting efforts are taking place and we’re limiting foot traffic to certain areas of the Zoo. This is an ever-evolving situation and we will continue to keep you updated.
