A new addition to the African Savanna joined recently! Peaches, a lesser kudu calf, was born on May 5 to parents Umbrella and Martini.

The lesser kudu originates from northeastern Africa and is known for the white stripe that runs along its back, accompanied by 11 to 14 stripes on either side. The kudu has large ears that allow for increased hearing capabilities, making Peaches easier to spot within the African Savanna. The lesser kudu is herbivorous, meaning it only munches on plants, so look out for Peaches indulging on greens around the habitat.
