Texas Nature Traders — Daily
This formalized program encourages kids (age 3 and older) to explore the outdoors and bring to the building fossils, rocks, bones, plants and other artifacts in exchange for points. Traders can redeem points (or save them for future use) for items in the Nature Trader inventory. Texas Nature Traders operates seven days a week, opening at 11 a.m. and closing one hour before the Zoo closes. Click here for more details.
Girl Scouts Daisy Day —
Feb. 28 April 18
Daisy Day at the Fort Worth Zoo will be an exciting adventure as we observe wildlife at the Zoo and work on the Daisy Journey – 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals! Included in the workshop is admission to the Zoo on the day of the event, the badge program, a live animal demonstration and a Zoo fun patch. This program has been rescheduled for April 18. Photo Safari — March 7, April 4, May 2
Calling all photographers! Sharpen your skills in one of the Zoo’s Photo Safari sessions this spring. Photo Safari sessions will allow participants, professional and amateur alike, to capture Zoo animals exhibiting natural behaviors before the Zoo opens to the general public. In addition to a unique photo opportunity, each session includes a continental breakfast, expert information about your photo subjects by a zookeeper and all-day admission to the Zoo. Mother’s Day Brunch — May 10
Celebrate with your mom at the Zoo this Mother’s Day with a delightful brunch at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Brunch includes a buffet meal, animal meet-and-greet, personalized animal adoption and Zoo tickets. Click here for details.
Beastro — May 15
Save the date for Beastro is the Fort Worth Zoo’s annual music and tasting event that supports the Zoo’s local and international wildlife conservation and education efforts. Beastro features the finest area restaurants stationed throughout the Zoo serving sample appetizers, entrees and desserts. Click here to learn more.
Summer Zoo Camp — June 15 to Aug. 21
This summer, 10 weeks of exciting, themed adventures are planned for children age 3 to sixth grade. Each camp session runs Monday through Friday and includes a T-shirt, keeper chats, Zoo excursions and more. Registration opens April 3. Click here for more information.
Summer Zoo Camp – Middle School Camps — June 29 to Aug. 7
Returning for a second year are middle school summer camps! A variety of camps are offered to students entering seventh and eighth grades this summer, including sessions on photography, cartography, zoo design and weekend overnight camps. Registration opens April 3. Click here for details.
Zoo Careers Camp — June 21 to July 31
This five-day, overnight camp is an amazing opportunity for high school students entering ninth through 12th grades who are interested in zoological sciences, conservation and animal-related careers. Campers will learn about animal care, maintenance, training and will get hands-on experience as they accompany animal staff on daily schedules, participate in animal care activities and much more. Zoo Preschool — September 2014 to May 2015
Preschoolers will have fun learning about habitats and animal homes. Your 3-, 4- or 5-year-old will meet once per week, Monday through Thursday, from September to May. Click here for more information.
