Texas Nature Traders — Daily
This formalized program encourages kids (age 3 and older) to explore the outdoors and bring to the building fossils, rocks, bones, plants and other artifacts in exchange for points. Traders can redeem points (or save them for future use) for items in the Nature Trader inventory. Texas Nature Traders operates seven days a week, opening at 11 a.m. and closing one hour before the Zoo closes. Click here for more details.
Photo Safari — Aug. 29, Sept. 19 and Oct. 3

Zoo Preschool — September 2014 to May 2015
Preschoolers will have fun learning about habitats and animal homes. Your 3-, 4- or 5-year-old will meet once per week, Monday through Thursday, from September to May. Click here for more information.
Home School Day — Oct. 1
Home-schooled children and their families are invited for a fun-filled educational day in the wilds of the Zoo. Be sure to visit all of the newest Zoo babies and learn amazing facts from zookeepers at more than 20 Wild Encounters happening around the park. Click here to learn more.
Nutrition Camp — Oct. 10 to 12
During this new three-day, overnight camp, participants will learn about the formulation of diets, condition assessment, diet preparation and presentation, record keeping, inventory and quality control. This camp is designed for those interested in a career in animal nutrition or animal health.

Boo at the Zoo — Oct. 23, 24 and 25
The Zoo’s family friendly Halloween celebration will continue as a daytime, Zoo-wide event. Boo at the Zoo will feature Halloween-themed entertainment for all guests to enjoy, including animal presentations, Wild Encounters keeper chats, trick-or-treating and more. Boo at the Zoo is included with Zoo membership/admission. Stay tuned for more information.
Pumpkins and Pancakes — Nov. 14
The Zoo’s annual fall-themed member event features an early opening just for Zoo members and their guests, a hot, paid breakfast, animal enrichment activities and more. Registration information coming soon.
Winter Zoo Day Camps — Dec. 21, 22, 23 and 28, 29, 30
Children in grades one through six will enjoy games, crafts and learning activities as they explore wildlife inside the Zoo and in the classroom during their winter break from school. Camp registration and more information coming soon.
Winter Careers Camp — Dec. 20 to 22
In this three-day overnight camp, students in grades nine to 12 will learn about what it takes to work at the Zoo. Students will learn about animal care, husbandry, participate in hands-on activities with the Zoo’s animal staff and much more. Camp registration coming soon; get more information here.
Winter Vet Camp — Jan. 16 to 18, 2016
Vet Camp is a three-day, overnight camp program for students in ninth through 12th grades interested in the field of veterinary medicine. During this camp, students will work with the Zoo’s veterinarians, veterinary technicians and other educators, and will experience laboratory activities, demonstrations, animal presentations and other hands-on activities.
